Okay, I agree social media is all about show -offs but when you make a lame joke and ( you know you are yourself tired inside) and someone replies with hahahahaha or laughing emoji, you mention or not, you feel damn good.
It doesnt matter whether that person laughed or not but when you had the first look on that laughing reacts, you felt good that atleast you made someone to laugh.
And more importantly, if that person laughed or not but proved your joke hilarious, then admit no one cares you like he/she does.
